MICHAL MERKEL was born on November 9, 1942. He became a member of the Army while in Indianapolis, Indiana and attained the rank of 1LT. On March 24, 1968 at the age of 25, MICHAL MERKEL gave his life in an attack on the Group's radio station near Pleiku, where he served as executive officer.
