Who We Are

Pure and simple, the Psychological Operations Veterans Association is a reunion association.

We have no formal affiliation with our brothers and sisters on active duty with the 4th Psyop Group, nor with the US Army or any other element of the government. But we retain close ties with our colleagues on active duty and in many reserve units

Our Beginnings

    The First Five
First Five
The original "Mindbenders" organization was formed back in 1988 when five men who served together in the late 60's met at The Wall in Washington, D.C. They'd all served in the 6th Battalion, 4th Psyop Group, and, at the wall, decided to find as many of their old friends as possible.

Duane Yaeger, founding President, took the idea, expanded the dream - then made the dream a reality.

The original "Mindbenders" charter became to identify and locate every member of every Psyop unit who served in Vietnam, and to act as a clearing house for Psywarriors trying to locate old friends.

But as we've matured as an organization.

Expanded charter - All Psywarriors Welcome

We expanded from the original 5 members - Ron Copeland, Jack O'Neil, Chad Spawr, Dick Winner, and Duane Yeager - and a Vietnam orientation, to a new charter, embracing all units, all eras, all variations of service.

We now have representatives of 37 units on our roster, from World War and Korea to the present. We recognize, honor and welcome all Psywarriors from all eras.

We've identified more than men and women who've served with or were attached to Psyops, and have accounted for nearly 500.

And we're gathering more current-day Psywarriors all the time.

We're here to serve, we're here for you.

Sure we reminisce about the craft and previous service - a bit - but we have no particular political or military agenda - and no axes to grind. The purpose of the Psyop Veterans Association is to locate old friends, to renew the old friendships.

And as importantly, to form new friendships and to support our craft.
