Position Overview

● Will work within the production team, alongside fellow animators, modelers, directors, designers to define and create the best animation rigs for a wide range of character styles and directions
● Offers the opportunity to create and support a variety of characters at different points of development in production
● Should feel comfortable doing rigging setups as well as running those setups to achieve a proper simulation
● Will be brainstorming creative and innovative solutions to ensure high quality appealing characters to tell compelling stories with


Will include but are not limited to;

● Work closely with department leads to design, create and test characters, props and sets
● Set up and run nCloth simulations as well as correction deformations
● Utilize a thorough understanding of Python to create tools and processes that focus on solving production challenges
● Character effects for shot production, including cloth and hair simulation
● Collaborate with animators to troubleshoot and improve rigs
● Collaborate with modelers to improve rig performance and deformations
● Will be responsible for the creation and downstream success of each character
● Ensure that all work quality meets productions needs and expectations


● 2+ years of film/commercial experience rigging
● Working knowledge of Maya
● Previous programming experience in Python is desired and experience in Shotgun is a plus
● Experience with muscle setup and simulation is highly desired
● Understanding of figure, facial anatomy, kinematics and physical behaviors
● Complex modeling skills needed to obtain appealing and believable deformations
● Strong understanding of dynamic setup and simulations preferably in nCloth
● Self-motivated and be able to handle stressful situations.
● Ability to switch responsibilities from programming, rigging and character FX to meet production needs
● Must be able to work well within a team environment and take initiative
