POSITION OVERVIEW
- Will lead, manage, nurture and support our team of artists in Mexico, reporting to the Managing Director
- A positive and outgoing personality that can interface with Directors, Leads & Clients
- Partnering with Directors at Psyop not only to execute but to incubate ideas, fill in the blanks and bring new thinking that pushes the work beyond expectations
- A creative fine art based background is a huge plus.
- Ensure we are delivering quality work synonymous with the Psyop Brand of Excellence
- Has a robust creative mind and a well trained eye for artistry
- Analyze creative problems and devise solutions to ensure project scope is achieved within deadline
- Will work closely with producers to help effectively manage resources, scheduling and deliverables throughout the project life cycle
- Will work closely with Producers to schedule client approvals, check ins and deliverables at appropriate and achievable intervals throughout the project schedule.
- Will work closely with the Managing Director and Global Talent Director to evaluate potential hires for the Mexico City office
RESPONSIBILITIES
Will include but are not limited to;
- Will coordinate all aspects of animation pipeline; modeling, texturing, animation, lighting, compositing
- Work to troubleshoot technical issues, optimize scenes and minimizing rendering times
- Evaluate CG work, identifying strengths and weaknesses, potential pitfalls
- Develop plans for future improvements
- Be aware of new technologies, techniques and processes that could benefit the studio
- Must be able to lead and coordinate teams
- Must possess expert knowledge of Maya, Nuke, and various production tools
EXPERIENCE
- 5 years of recent CG Lead / Compositing Lead or Creative Directing experience
- First hand experience and deep knowledge of CGI shot production and its iteration processes through at least 5 years on-site management
- Demonstrated creative and technical knowledge of 3D animation (including modeling, rigging, texturing, lighting, effects, rigging, and animation) and has a solid understanding of the Nuke workflows
QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent communication skills, strong work ethic and ability to take direction are essential
- Understanding of color theory and it’s application for both animation and live action projects
- Should possess a strong sense of design perspective in the 3D environment
- Ability to mentor or train artists to ensure continual development in the quality of Psyop work
- Must be proficient in English and Spanish
- Must have eligibility to fully work in Mexico as a Mexican Citizen or on a Visa
