SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER (NY)

Position Overview

  • Will be the protector and amplifier of the Psyop tone of voice and brand across all social media platforms 
  • Will creatively lead and manage Psyop’s social presence and voice across all social media platforms including Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin, Facebook and Tik Tok 
  • Will track deliverables, air dates and PR restrictions for all Psyop projects and campaigns 
  • Will help to curate and update the Psyop website with new work, director launches and job postings
  • Will assist in developing ways to increase brand awareness, focusing on various revenue sources (i.e; agency, direct to brand, tangential sources)
  • Will report primarily to the Director of Marketing based in London and collaborate closely with teams in NY, LA, Germany and Mexico City for all things related to social media and marketing communications

Responsibilities

Will include but are not limited to;

  • Propaganda Artist. Collaborate with directors and producers to put together high-quality social media content for every branded campaign and spread the Psyop propaganda through the Psyop voice
  • Social Media Maven. Curate and maintain Psyop’s social presence by creating strategic approaches for all social media platforms — Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin — to extend reach, boost audience engagement and harness maximum effectiveness of all content
  • Content Obsessed. You create content like it’s your job (and it literally is), consistently creating and organizing assets for social postings, mailers and the Psyop website, including stills, gifs and BTS content 
  • Hawk Eye Maintain the Psyop social media calendar with pre-planned posts across all platforms, consistently updating it with new projects and air dates as they come in 
  • Clever AF. Write quippy yet impactful copy that harnesses Psyop’s tone of voice for social posts, press releases, case studies, and mailers 
  • Web Savvy. Curate, manage and update all project pages, director pages and job postings on the Psyop website to reflect our best work 
  • Insightful Soul. Decode the convoluted data that tells us how we’re doing. Use analytics tools to track the progress of Psyop’s social campaigns and optimize social strategies moving forward
  • De Facto Deputy. Serve as the canonical protégé to the Head of Marketing helping strategize and develop branded content opportunities to make us go viral
  • Pseudo Journalist. Create a bi-weekly internal newsletter with the latest company projects and updates as well as the occasional external newsletter for big campaigns and sales purposes
  • Festival Junkie. Work with marketing team to submit select Psyop projects to various awards / festivals (and we’re not talking about Coachella) 
  • Schmoozer. Work closely with the talent and HR teams to help promote recruiting events, festivals and speaking opportunities that Psyop is involved in

Experience

  • Not Your First Rodeo. 2+ years of experience working in a professional social media role 
  • A passion for copywriting and brand management
  • Experience working in advertising, production and/or animation preferred 
  • Experience with content creation and some familiarity with cameras, lighting and editing required
  • General understanding of marketing, analytics and brand development
  • You’ve Got Mail. Understanding of MailChimp or other email marketing platforms
  • Previous experience supporting digital media campaigns, including both launching and driving

Qualifications

  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Must be flexible, determined and an excellent team player
  • Knowledge of Photoshop and Adobe Premiere preferred 
  • Ability to bring innovative and fresh thinking to the team, helping to best represent and promote Psyop as a brand and all the work it produces 
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to track and manage multiple projects at once
